Cory Kozmenski Arrested in Winnipeg Drug Trafficking Case

Fifth arrest made in ongoing investigation, suspect still sought

by Amelia Crawford

The Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) has made a fifth arrest in connection to an ongoing drug trafficking investigation, but authorities are still on the lookout for a sixth suspect.

On Thursday, police arrested 41-year-old Cory Kozmenski, charging him with 21 offences related to drug trafficking, firearms, and court breaches. During his arrest, Kozmenski was found in possession of 13 ecstasy pills, $10,333 CAD, and $400 USD. As a result, three additional charges were filed, including possession of a scheduled substance for trafficking purposes – ecstasy.

Kozmenski remains in custody, with the charges against him still to be proven in court. The investigation, which began in November 2024 by the WPS Guns and Gangs Unit, had already led to four arrests earlier this month.

Following Kozmenski’s arrest, the WPS is still actively searching for 41-year-old Kevan Anderson, who is wanted on 13 charges related to drug trafficking, firearms, and court breaches. Police have issued a warrant for his arrest, cautioning the public not to approach Anderson, as he is considered armed and dangerous.

Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding Anderson’s whereabouts to contact the police.

As with all criminal charges, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
