Corion Reed Arrested in Ford Heights with Stolen Handgun

18-year-old faces multiple weapon-related charges

COOK COUNTY, IL — Corion Reed, an 18-year-old man, was arrested in Ford Heights after a traffic stop led to the discovery of a stolen, loaded handgun.

Cook County Sheriff’s Police reported that Reed was stopped near the 1600 block of South Lincoln Highway on Monday. During the stop, investigators from the Organized Crime Division discovered that Reed was carrying a handgun with an extended magazine containing 20 rounds of live ammunition.

The weapon was found to be stolen from Chicago, and Reed was without a valid Firearm Owner’s Identification (FOID) card or a Concealed Carry License.

In addition to charges of aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon, Reed also faces charges for unlawful possession of cannabis. He was cited for possessing the extended magazine.

Authorities have not disclosed the reason for the traffic stop or whether Reed remains in custody. No information was provided regarding his court dates.
