RAPIDES PARISH, La. — A Texas man has been extradited to Louisiana and charged in connection with a February 2024 ATM theft after he allegedly rammed his vehicle into a Rapides Parish business and stole the machine.
The Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office (RPSO) said deputies responded to an alarm activation on February 12, 2024, at a business on Old Boyce Road near the Rapides Station exit. Upon arrival, the store owner provided surveillance footage identifying the suspect as Corey Cortez Rosenthal, 54.
According to investigators, Rosenthal used his vehicle to break into the business before stealing the ATM. He was later linked to the burglary, but because he lived in Texas, the RPSO issued warrants and entered them into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database.
On April 7, 2025, Dallas Police located and arrested Rosenthal, who was then booked into the Dallas County Jail. He has since been extradited to Rapides Parish, where he remains in custody on a $100,000 bond.
Rosenthal faces the following charges:
Obstruction of justice
Theft (valued between $1,000 and $5,000)
Criminal damage to property (valued between $1,000 and $50,000)
Simple burglary
The investigation remains ongoing.
