FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) — A man has been arrested after allegedly shooting a woman in the face with a BB gun near a Circle K gas station in Fargo.
The incident happened around 10:00 p.m. on June 21 at the Circle K on University Drive South. According to court documents, police were called after witnesses saw a woman fleeing while being shot at. The sound of the shots led them to believe a BB gun was involved.
Police later located the injured woman, who had a visible wound and blood on her left cheek. She told officers she had gone to Corey Patnaude’s apartment earlier, where he told her she wasn’t welcome. She then left for the Circle K, but saw Patnaude again nearby and insulted him.
According to her statement, Patnaude responded by turning his bicycle around, pulling out a BB gun, and firing multiple times. She claimed she dodged some shots but was hit when she turned to look back at him.
Patnaude denied possessing a BB gun, though he confirmed a verbal argument took place.
He was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon. The woman was also taken into custody for outstanding warrants from Minnesota.
