Indra Bista, a 24-year-old cook, was arrested for the alleged murder of his relative, 40-year-old Deepak Bahaddur Bhat, also a cook, in Chikka Bellandur.
Deepak’s decomposed body was discovered in a drainage on May 1, initially registered as an unnatural death. However, Deepak’s wife, Sushma Gurung, suspected foul play. On June 6, she filed a fresh complaint after learning from a relative that Indra had confessed to the murder.
According to police sources, the killing occurred on the night of April 11 during a drinking session. Indra allegedly stabbed Deepak to death and disposed of the body in the drainage.
The police are continuing investigations into the case.
