A Central Florida convicted felon is back behind bars after being arrested with a firearm, ammunition, and methamphetamine. Jacob Davis, previously convicted for multiple burglaries, was apprehended by the Volusia Sheriff’s Office Deltona Crime Suppression Team after receiving intelligence that he was violating his probation by carrying a gun.
At approximately 3:15 PM, a deputy pulled Davis over for traffic violations. After Davis exited his truck, he was detained without resistance and placed in handcuffs. During a search, deputies found an empty holster, a knife, and two loaded .45 caliber magazines in Davis’s pockets. A loaded .45 caliber 1911 handgun was also visible under the driver’s seat.
A K-9 unit alerted to narcotics in the vehicle, leading deputies to discover a magnetic box under the steering wheel containing methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Additionally, they found 113 rounds of live ammunition and about 100 rounds of spent ammunition.
Davis, 32, was arrested on multiple charges, including possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon, carrying a concealed firearm, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and violating probation. He is being held without bond.
Davis had been released from prison in April 2023 after serving five years for multiple burglaries in Volusia County. Deltona detectives are also investigating his vehicle and trailer, which were captured on camera during a recent burglary.
