Chandigarh police have arrested contractor Harmeet Singh following a fatal accident at a city hotel where two workers fell from the third floor while installing polycarbonate sheets. One worker, Tinku, died on the spot, while the other, Sunil, was hospitalized.
Tilak Raj, a supervisor at the hotel’s maintenance department, said the workers began the installation without proper safety gear. He reportedly provided safety equipment to the contractor, but the workers were not made to use it.
The accident occurred on November 8, 2025, around 3:30 pm. According to reports, the workers fell from the third floor, prompting immediate medical attention. Doctors at GMSH-16 declared Tinku dead on arrival and admitted Sunil for treatment.
