36-year-old Connie Mae Rose was arrested by Morganton Public Safety Officers on Wednesday, April 2, following a traffic stop. Rose has been charged with felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, specifically methamphetamine.
The incident occurred when officers stopped a white van for displaying a forward-facing red lamp next to the headlights. During the investigation, an officer observed drugs and drug paraphernalia in plain view, prompting a vehicle search. Officers discovered a baggie containing a white crystal-like substance, which field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Connie Mae Rose, one of the occupants, claimed ownership of the drugs and was arrested on the spot. She was later booked into the Burke County Jail with a $3,000 bond. Rose’s District Court date is set for April 24.
