The Commissioner’s Task Force, Central Zone Team, along with Amberpet Police Station, cracked down on an organized online Satta betting racket operating from a rented flat in Bathakammakunta, Bagh Amberpet. The police arrested six men involved in the illegal gambling operation.
The accused include Voddepelli Naveen (24), a carpenter by profession, Pudari Sai Kiran (24), Soma Mahender (24), Bingi Sai Kiran (23), Bingi Avinash (30), and Sana Sai Preetham (25). Authorities seized Rs 79,000 in bank account balances, betting collection cash, 17 mobile phones, laptops, a car, a bike, stamps, and other materials worth about Rs 20 lakh.
Police investigations revealed the group had created multiple fake Facebook IDs linked to unidentified phone numbers to promote their illicit betting activities. They initially attracted victims by offering small, guaranteed profits but manipulated betting outcomes to ensure the victims suffered losses when investing larger sums.
DCP YVS Sudheendra explained that the accused, all natives of Kagaz Nagar and friends, set up their operation two months ago by renting a flat at Bagh Amberpet for Rs 14,000 monthly. Using laptops and phones, they ran their betting business under fake Facebook names like Satta Matka Kalyan Result, Ashwin Nayak, Teer Shillong Counter, Arjuin Sarkar, and Vishal K.
Victims were charged registration fees ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000 for number predictions in Satta betting. The accused also created fake promotional videos showing staged winners to lure more investors. Payments were collected through online platforms such as QR codes, Google Pay, PhonePe, and other UPI services.
The task force confirmed that the accused deliberately manipulated game results to cause financial losses to the bettors. All suspects and seized evidence have been handed over to Amberpet Police for further investigation.
