Colter Pritchard Sentenced to 5 Years for Drug Trafficking

Ex-NDSU Bison player pleads guilty in multi-state cocaine ring

by Amelia Crawford

FARGO, N.D. — Former NDSU Bison football player Colter Pritchard was sentenced Thursday to five years in prison and three years of supervised release after pleading guilty to drug trafficking charges. He was also fined $200.

Pritchard’s conviction stems from his involvement in a multi-state drug trafficking ring that operated from North Dakota to Arizona. The conspiracy began in January 2023 and led to his arrest in February 2024.

Court documents reveal that police found five kilograms of a cocaine-containing substance in Pritchard’s vehicle at the time of his arrest.

Pritchard joined the NDSU Bison in 2014, following his graduation from Langdon Area High School in 2013. He was recognized as a first team all-state running back during his senior year.
