CADDO PARISH, La. — A Caddo Parish man was arrested after allegedly fleeing a car crash and attempting to break into a home while impaired, according to the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office.
On July 26 around 8 a.m., deputies responded to a burglary call in the 6900 block of Carroll Circle near Blanchard. There, they found 34-year-old Colin Hurst in a backyard, bleeding and appearing highly impaired. Authorities believe he may have mistakenly thought he was at his own home.
Further investigation revealed that Hurst had crashed his vehicle on Glen Road and fled the scene on foot. Deputies say he was driving with a suspended license due to a previous DUI.
Hurst was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the attempted break-in. After being medically cleared, he was taken to the Caddo Correctional Center and booked on charges of hit and run, DWI (4th offense), and driving under suspension.
