ULSTER, N.Y. — Two men, Colin Hill, 48, of East Dorset, Vermont, and Correy Smith, 32, of Brooklyn, were arrested Thursday after a traffic stop on I-87 led to a significant drug seizure.
Just after 2 p.m., State Police pulled over the vehicle for alleged traffic violations while it was traveling northbound. K-9 Vinn conducted an exterior scan of the car and gave a positive alert for narcotics.
During a subsequent search, authorities reportedly found approximately half a pound of cocaine and just under 2 ounces of ketamine.
Hill, the driver, and Smith, the front-seat passenger, were charged with:
First-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (Class A-I Felony)
Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell (Class B Felony)
Fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (Class C Felony)
Fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (Class D Felony)
Second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia
Both men are being held at the Ulster County Jail without bail.
