After three years on the run, Cody Timothy Casey was arrested in Oman and returned to Canada, where he appeared in Vancouver Provincial Court on April 25. Casey, 38, was transported via Germany and remanded in custody by Judge Donna Senniw.

Casey had been wanted by the Vancouver Police Department on Canada-wide warrants related to 17 drug and firearm offences, including the possession of fentanyl, heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine, ketamine, and multiple illegal firearms.

The charges date back to July 27, 2020, with additional allegations involving the unlawful production and trafficking of controlled substances between December 2019 and February 2020, alongside co-accused Janell Elizabeth Sandhu.

Despite being granted bail twice—with a $200,000 bond and later an ankle monitor—Casey fled the country in April 2022, just weeks before his scheduled trial.

In February 2020, police dismantled a downtown Vancouver drug lab where over four kilograms of fentanyl were recovered. Later, in July, VPD seized more than 20 kilograms of fentanyl, nearly 10 kilograms of meth, three guns, a live grenade, and over $315,000 in cash from multiple Metro Vancouver locations.

The VPD issued a public appeal in June 2023 through Canada’s BOLO program (“Be On the Lookout”) to locate Casey. Their efforts concluded with his capture and return to Canada, where he now remains in custody.
