DAVENPORT, Iowa —
A 28-year-old Milan man, Cody Melchi, is in custody after being arrested on a warrant tied to a 2023 robbery at Jasmine Spa in Davenport, according to Scott County Court arrest affidavits.
Melchi faces felony charges of second-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit a forcible felony.
The robbery occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 26, 2023, when Melchi and two co-conspirators entered the spa at 922 E 59th St. and posed an immediate threat to the victim, placing them in fear of harm or offensive physical contact, according to police.
One suspect falsely identified himself as a police officer, ordered the victim to the ground, and demanded money. When the victim insisted no cash was present, a suspect stole an electronic tablet and told the victim, “If you give me money, you can have it back.” The group left with the device when the victim again said there was no money.
The incident was captured on surveillance footage at Jasmine Spa. Investigators also obtained video from a Moline business taken the same day, which clearly showed Melchi’s face and clothing matching the scene at the spa. Police confirmed his identity using previous booking photos and public social media images.
A co-defendant later confirmed Melchi’s presence during a post-Miranda interview with a Moline detective, further implicating him in the crime.
Melchi was being held Tuesday at Scott County Jail on a $50,000 cash-only bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 16 in Scott County Court.
