Police in New Brunswick say a man wanted in connection with an armed robbery in Moncton has been arrested.
According to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, officers took Cody MacLeod, 29, of Kensington, into custody on an unrelated matter on Indian Brook First Nation.
Authorities had previously issued a warrant for MacLeod’s arrest on Oct. 10 in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on Aug. 27 in Moncton.
MacLeod appeared before Moncton Provincial Court on Tuesday, where he was charged with multiple offences, including:
Two counts of pointing a firearm
Robbery with a firearm
Robbery with an offensive weapon
Assault with a weapon
Failing to comply with a probation order
Mischief under $5,000
Following the hearing, MacLeod was remanded into custody and will remain detained until his next scheduled court appearance.
