Vallejo, Calif. — Two Vallejo residents have been arrested and charged with multiple crimes, including murder and robbery, in connection with the death of a Bay Point man earlier this month.
According to the Solano County Sheriff’s Office, 52-year-old Clifton Summerise and 42-year-old Maria DeLeon were taken into custody on Tuesday for their alleged roles in the killing of 41-year-old Adam Muela.
Deputies discovered Muela’s body on April 13 along Cherry Glen Road in Vacaville. The victim had been shot and his body burned, authorities confirmed.
The California Highway Patrol also assisted in the investigation, ultimately helping to locate Muela’s vehicle.
Both Summerise and DeLeon face charges of murder and robbery. Officials are continuing to investigate the case, and a motive has not yet been determined. It remains unclear whether Muela had any prior connection to the suspects.
