BOWMANVILLE, Ont. — A 41-year-old self-employed cleaner has been charged after Durham Regional Police recovered stolen jewelry linked to multiple thefts and break-ins.
The investigation began in September 2025, when the East Division Criminal Investigations Branch looked into a series of thefts allegedly committed by a cleaner operating under the business name “Maids to Us.”
Police say Danielle Margarita Jarrett, of Clarington, used her position to gain access to clients’ homes, many of whom were elderly, and stole valuable items.
On October 10, investigators executed a search warrant at Jarrett’s residence, where they found a large quantity of jewelry believed to be connected to several incidents.
Authorities believe there may be additional victims and are urging anyone who hired Jarrett to clean their home to contact police.
Jarrett has been charged with break and enter, theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking. She was held in custody for a bail hearing.
Police continue to investigate and encourage potential victims to come forward.
