WAYNE COUNTY, W.Va. — Clay “Jazz” Richbow, a fugitive wanted in Ohio on drug charges and in Michigan for a parole violation related to gun charges, was arrested in rural Wayne County, West Virginia, on Monday, according to Sheriff Eddie Bradshaw.
Richbow, who was reportedly operating in multiple states, faces serious charges in West Virginia, including possession with intent to deliver fentanyl, conspiracy to distribute fentanyl, obstructing justice, and possession of a controlled substance.
Officers from the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit stopped a vehicle in the East Lynn area, where they discovered more than a quarter-pound of fentanyl hidden in Richbow’s underwear. In addition to the fentanyl, authorities seized marijuana and a digital scale during the arrest.
Investigators revealed that Richbow initially attempted to mislead officers by providing false information about his identity. More charges may follow as the investigation continues.
This arrest is part of a broader effort to combat drug trafficking in the region, as authorities work to stop the spread of fentanyl and other dangerous substances.
