A Clarkston man, Anthony George Grogan, was arrested on May 15, in connection with a series of thefts and burglaries reported at Walmart stores between November 2024 and May 2025.

Grogan, 37, was taken into custody at a residence on Elm Street, after a months-long investigation into incidents where he allegedly stole merchandise and trespassed at Walmart locations, despite being banned from the store since 2019.

The investigation began in December 2024 after reports of theft at Walmart. Authorities say Grogan entered the store on three separate occasions: November 11, November 30, and December 1. On two of these dates, Grogan allegedly exited the store with unpaid merchandise—one time with shoes and socks valued at nearly $40, and another time with items totaling around $60. Additionally, Grogan is accused of taking a shopping cart off the property.

In a more recent incident, on May 1, 2025, Walmart Loss Prevention identified Grogan as a suspect in another theft attempt. Reports say Grogan had placed a lower-priced tag on a backpack and attempted to leave the store after paying for other items. When confronted by store staff, Grogan dropped the backpack and fled the scene.

Grogan was later found and arrested without incident at a residence on May 15, after officers located him at his home.

He was transported to the Asotin County Jail and booked on three counts of second-degree burglary, three counts of third-degree theft, and two counts of second-degree trespassing. Grogan is expected to make his initial court appearance on Friday.

The investigation continues, with authorities working to gather further details on Grogan’s alleged involvement in these criminal activities.
