EUGENE, Ore. — Clarke Chaos Zyz, 37, of Eugene, was arrested Wednesday in connection with bank robberies that occurred in Cottage Grove and Creswell on Tuesday.
Lane County Sheriff’s detectives identified Zyz as the suspect and determined he likely resided in Eugene. Eugene Police detectives and officers began surveillance near Green Acres Road, where they located Zyz in a vehicle.
Zyz was detained without incident and subsequently arrested. He faces multiple charges related to the Creswell robbery, including robbery in the 2nd degree, menacing, and disorderly conduct in the 2nd degree. He faces identical charges for the Cottage Grove robbery.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall, weighing about 175 pounds with a medium build and a full beard. At the time of the incidents, he was last seen wearing a green ball cap, aviator sunglasses, a black jacket, black sweatpants, grey gloves, and black shoes with white soles.
The Lane County Sheriff’s Office thanked the Cottage Grove Police Department, Eugene Police Department, and community members for their assistance in identifying and arresting the suspect.
