BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Henry Jurek, III, 47, of Clarence, has been sentenced to 1 1/2 to three years in prison for a domestic violence incident that occurred in 2023. The sentencing, announced by the Erie County District Attorney’s Office on Tuesday, follows an incident in which Jurek attempted to cause injuries to a victim by slamming their head into the cement ground at a residence on Silver Birch Court on July 13, 2023.
The victim was immediately taken to Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital for treatment following the attack. Jurek pleaded guilty to second-degree attempted assault in May. Due to his criminal history, he was sentenced as a second felony offender.
Originally, Jurek faced six charges, including first-degree unlawful imprisonment, second-degree attempted assault, third-degree assault, resisting arrest, second-degree obstruction of governmental administration, and disorderly conduct. However, he was sentenced for the second-degree attempted assault charge.
In addition to the prison sentence, a final order of protection has been issued, remaining in effect until February 2035, to ensure the safety of the victim involved in this case.
