PORT ORANGE, Fla. — Clarence Collmar, 50, of New Smyrna Beach, was arrested last Tuesday after allegedly shoplifting from multiple retail businesses in Port Orange.
According to the Port Orange Police Department, officers received several reports of theft involving Collmar. Officer Braden located Collmar attempting to flee the scene on a bicycle. Despite repeated orders to stop, Collmar continued to ride away until Officer Braden caught up and tackled him.
Police recovered several stolen items from Collmar’s pants and backpack. He was booked into the Volusia County Branch Jail on charges of two counts of felony theft, resisting an officer, possession of cannabis, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Collmar remains in custody on a $4,500 bond.
