Clara Wilson Held in Spain Over £200K Cannabis Smuggling

OnlyFans Mum Faces 4 Years After 34kg Drug Airport Bust

BARCELONA, SPAIN — A British OnlyFans model and mum-of-four is facing up to four years in prison and a £750,000 fine after allegedly smuggling over £200,000 worth of cannabis into Spain from Thailand.

Clara Wilson, 36, from Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire, was arrested on January 20 at Barcelona El Prat Airport after arriving on a Qatar Airways flight from Doha. It’s believed her journey originated in Bangkok, with stopovers in India and Qatar.

Spanish Civil Guard officers intercepted Clara as she disembarked the flight around 9 p.m., seizing two large suitcases. Inside, they discovered 34.07 kilograms of marijuana, vacuum-packed into 60 sealed Angel Delight-style bags. A toxicology report confirmed the substance as cannabis.

A three-page indictment seen by The Sun alleges that Clara transported the cannabis to sell on the black market, where its value was estimated at €213,991. Prosecutors are seeking a four-year sentence and have warned she could face an additional six months behind bars if she fails to pay the massive fine.

Wilson, who remains in pre-trial detention at a prison near Barcelona, has been held since her arrest. Under Spanish law, she can be detained for up to two years before trial, though sources expect her case to proceed later this year.

A Foreign Office spokesperson confirmed: “We are supporting a British woman detained in Spain and are in contact with the local authorities.”

Clara’s case is one of several recent high-profile arrests of British women abroad linked to the smuggling of Thai cannabis, which is legal in Thailand but strictly prohibited in most other countries.

Recent related cases include:

A British couple caught with 33kg of cannabis at Valencia Airport.

Bella May Culley, 18, arrested in Georgia with 14kg of cannabis.

Charlotte Lee May, 21, a former flight attendant arrested in Sri Lanka with 46kg of synthetic cannabis known as “Kush”.

Cannabis seizures at UK airports have reached record levels, with Heathrow alone intercepting 14.7 tons last year. In total, nearly 27 tons of cannabis were seized at UK airports in 2024, a 400% increase over the previous year.

Spanish prosecutors have yet to confirm a trial date for Clara Wilson, who has not publicly entered a plea or confirmed whether she will pursue a pre-trial plea deal.
