A 27-year-old Rome man has been arrested in a domestic violence case following a violent incident at a home on Chef Van Drive, according to authorities.
Police reports state that Christopher Weldon Vulliet allegedly grabbed a 29-year-old woman by the jaw on two separate occasions, causing injury. Officers said that when they attempted to detain Vulliet, he refused verbal commands and had to be tackled to the ground.
During the incident, Vulliet reportedly caused extensive damage inside the home, kicking and punching holes in the walls and an air-conditioning vent. Officers further stated that he broke two glass cups and punched his roommate in the face, leaving a black eye.
Vulliet is charged with simple battery, battery, criminal trespass, second-degree criminal damage to property, obstruction, and pedestrian under the influence, officials said.
