FOLSOM, Calif. — A Sacramento man was arrested early Friday morning in connection with a reported mail theft in a Folsom neighborhood, according to the Folsom Police Department.

Officers responded around 3:30 a.m. to the 1900 block of Horseshoe Glen Circle after receiving reports of someone stealing mail from a community cluster mailbox. When police arrived, they found the mailbox unlocked, open, and completely emptied.

During their search, officers located a man matching the suspect’s description. Authorities identified him as Christopher Palma, who was reportedly on felony probation for prior offenses including possession of counterfeit items, identity theft, possession of counterfeit financial instruments, and grand theft.

Police said Palma was found with a bag containing stolen mail, loose mail with personal identifying information, and suspected forged cluster mailbox keys.

While canvassing the area, officers also observed a black sedan speeding away from the neighborhood. Police obtained the vehicle’s license plate number and are conducting further investigation.

Folsom Police commended officers for their response and thanked the community member who reported the suspicious activity.
