CAÑON CITY, Colo. — Christopher Michael Gray, 44, was arrested for allegedly stealing a vehicle after the Cañon City Police Department (CCPD) located the stolen car during a routine patrol on Thursday, Feb. 20.
According to CCPD, officers found a stolen vehicle from Salida parked and unoccupied. Officers, working alongside detectives, began monitoring the vehicle in hopes of finding the suspect. Later that day, they observed Gray entering the vehicle and driving away.
Police then executed a pre-planned traffic stop and arrested Gray on suspicion of vehicle theft. The stolen car was promptly returned to its rightful owner.
