MOUNT VERNON, Ky. — A man was arrested Thursday night after attempting to meet a 14-year-old girl at a McDonald’s in Mount Vernon and fleeing from police, according to an arrest citation.
Christopher Masters, 45, reportedly planned to give the minor methamphetamine and engage in sexual acts with her. Police were alerted and monitored Masters at the McDonald’s, where he pulled in twice before attempting to leave.
When officers tried to conduct a traffic stop as Masters left the second time, he fled north on US-25 near Renfro Valley, sparking a multi-officer pursuit.
Authorities eventually blocked Masters’ vehicle and removed him after several attempts. During the stop, police found an open bottle of vodka and lubricant inside the car. Masters had also removed the SIM card from his phone.
Masters faces multiple charges, including procuring or promoting the use of a minor by electronic means, promoting a minor in a sex performance, unlawful transaction with a minor, possession of a prescription controlled substance without a proper container, third-degree possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, and first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer.
He is currently booked at the Rockcastle County Detention Center.
