SAN ANTONIO – Christopher Irving, 41, a former assistant football coach at Veterans Memorial High School, was arrested on Thursday, April 17, 2025, after being charged with multiple felony offenses related to child grooming and sexual performance. The charges stem from an investigation into his interactions with students at Judson Independent School District (ISD).
Irving, who had been employed with the district, was placed on administrative leave as soon as concerns about his behavior were raised in March 2024. School officials promptly reported the incident to the appropriate authorities, triggering an investigation. Irving voluntarily resigned shortly after being placed on leave.
The investigation revealed that Irving had contacted students on social media, coercing them into sending explicit images and messages in exchange for gifts. There are two confirmed victims, both under 18, who were students at the school.
The case was initially reported to the Judson ISD Police Department, which then collaborated with the FBI San Antonio and SAPD’s Special Victims Unit as part of the “Child Exploitation Human Trafficking Task Force.” Their joint efforts led to Irving’s arrest in the Live Oak area, with the FBI, SAPD, and U.S. Marshals all involved in the operation.
Irving has been charged with sexual performance by a child, a second-degree felony, and two counts of child grooming, a third-degree felony. The ongoing investigation is being handled by local, state, and federal authorities, and officials have not released further details about whether Irving’s resignation has been formalized or if he is still employed with Judson ISD.
The district has assured the community that it is cooperating fully with the authorities as the case progresses. “This is an active investigation, and we are working closely with law enforcement to ensure justice is served,” a statement from Judson ISD said.
The district has emphasized that student safety remains a top priority, and they are committed to supporting the victims of this alleged misconduct.
