Christopher German Arrested in Arcata Business Theft Case

Employee accused of stealing large sum from Arcata business

ARCATA, Calif. — A commercial burglary investigation led to the arrest of Christopher Michael German, a 46-year-old Eureka resident and employee of the victimized business, according to the Arcata Police Department.

The incident occurred on July 15, 2025, at approximately 6:45 PM at a business located in the 400 block of South G Street in Arcata. During the burglary, authorities say a large amount of currency was stolen.

Following an investigation, Arcata Police Detectives identified German as the primary suspect. On July 17 at around 7:20 PM, officers executed a search warrant at a residence in the 3400 block of F Street in Eureka, where German was taken into custody without incident.

He was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility, facing charges of burglary and grand theft.

The Arcata Police Department has not released the exact amount of money stolen, and the case remains under investigation.
