PENSACOLA, Fla. — A 20-year-old Pensacola man, Christopher Alonse Cobb Jr., is facing five counts of fentanyl trafficking following a months-long investigation led by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE).
Cobb was arrested Wednesday and is currently being held in the Escambia County Jail without bond.
The investigation, launched in October 2024, was conducted by the FDLE in partnership with the DEA’s High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force. Funding for the operation came from Florida’s S.A.F.E. (State Assistance for Fentanyl Eradication) grant.
Authorities identified Cobb as a key fentanyl distributor within a drug trafficking organization. Between October 2024 and April 2025, agents conducted five controlled purchases, during which Cobb sold nearly a quarter pound of fentanyl.
An arrest warrant was issued earlier this week. On Wednesday, agents executed two search warrants and recovered a stolen 9mm Glock 23 pistol, a 50-round pistol drum, ammunition, and multiple cellphones.
FDLE Pensacola and DEA HIDTA are continuing to investigate. The Florida Highway Patrol also assisted in Cobb’s arrest.
The case remains active as authorities pursue additional leads in connection to the drug network.
