KILLEN, Ala. (WHNT) — A Lauderdale County man was arrested Wednesday following a multi-agency drug investigation that led to a search and seizure operation at a residence in Killen.
According to the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO), authorities executed a search warrant on June 25 at a home located at 700 Kentwood Drive. The search uncovered approximately 10 grams of methamphetamine, a small amount of marijuana, and various items of drug paraphernalia, including tools associated with drug distribution.
Following the discovery, 51-year-old Christopher Atkinson of Killen was arrested and charged with:
Possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Second-degree possession of marijuana
Certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm
The operation was a coordinated effort involving the Lauderdale County Drug Task Force, Florence Police Department, Lauderdale County District Attorney’s Office, and the Florence/Lauderdale Special Operations Team.
Authorities continue to crack down on local drug distribution networks and encourage residents to report suspicious activity.
