LANCASTER, OH — Christopher Wagoner, 39, and Randolph Wagoner, 62, both of Lancaster, were indicted on felony drug charges following a traffic stop and search of their home, which led to the discovery of fentanyl and methamphetamine.
On March 21, 2025, officers from the Lancaster Police Department’s Directed Patrol Unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Christopher Wagoner, with Randolph Wagoner as a passenger. After deploying K9 Barry, officers were alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle uncovered approximately 13.5 grams of fentanyl.
Subsequently, officers obtained a search warrant for the Wagoners’ residence at 400 Miller Avenue, a location previously linked to drug activity and the site of a fatal overdose last year. The search resulted in the seizure of 87 grams of methamphetamine and an additional 15 grams of fentanyl.
Both men were indicted on charges of Possession of a Fentanyl-Related Compound (First-Degree Felony) and Aggravated Trafficking of Drugs (Second-Degree Felony).
Authorities have highlighted the danger posed by fentanyl, stressing that just two milligrams can be lethal to humans. With synthetic opioids like fentanyl contributing to the majority of overdose deaths in the U.S., the significant quantities seized in this case serve as a stark reminder of the deadly threat these substances pose to the community.
