MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas — On January 4, 2025, deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a theft in progress at Best Buy, located on Lake Woodlands Drive. As deputies made their way to the scene, they learned that the suspects had fled in a U-Haul truck just moments before their arrival.
Thanks to swift action from deputies from The Woodlands Township Patrol, the U-Haul was quickly located. The pursuit ensued when the driver failed to stop, leading deputies on a chase that lasted nearly an hour. The pursuit ended in Harris County, where the driver, later identified as 24-year-old Christopher Darnell Allen, abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. He was apprehended shortly after.
Three passengers were also detained, including 22-year-old Shayla Jaree Timmons. A thorough search of the U-Haul uncovered multiple stolen items and narcotics. Allen and Timmons were arrested on charges including evading arrest, possession of controlled substances, outstanding warrants, and theft. They are currently being held at the Montgomery County Jail. The investigation is ongoing, and further charges may be filed against additional suspects.
This incident highlights the dedication of Montgomery County law enforcement and serves as a reminder that criminal activity will not be tolerated.
