DARLINGTON COUNTY, S.C. – A former Darlington County corrections officer, Christian Javuon Jackson, was arrested Thursday after a K9 unit detected drugs in his vehicle during a search operation at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center.

K9 Search Leads to Arrest
Authorities conducted a routine K9 drug sweep in the detention center’s employee parking lot, locker rooms, and administrative offices. Employees were also scanned for contraband using a body scan machine.

During the search, a K9 alerted to Jackson’s vehicle, prompting officers to search the car. Inside, authorities discovered a small quantity of marijuana in both the front passenger seat and trunk.

Charges & Employment Termination
Following the discovery, Jackson was immediately terminated from his position and arrested on a simple possession charge. He is currently held at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center, awaiting a bond hearing on Friday afternoon.

Authorities emphasize their zero-tolerance policy regarding contraband within the detention facility, reinforcing ongoing efforts to maintain security and integrity among staff.
