BRADENTON, Fla. — A Bradenton man is facing an animal cruelty charge after he was caught on camera repeatedly beating a 9-week-old puppy, police said.

Christian Cuello, 30, was arrested after staff at Kava Social Club reported the disturbing incident to officers patrolling the downtown area. Witnesses said Cuello was seen grabbing the puppy by the neck and striking it in the face before leaving the premises.

Employees reviewed their security footage and handed over multiple videos to the Bradenton Police Department, confirming the abuse. The officer involved recognized the dog and located its owner, who said she had left the puppy in Cuello’s care.

Authorities later arrested Cuello and took the puppy to a veterinary hospital for a medical evaluation. According to police, Cuello was already on probation for an unrelated case, and the new charge has landed him back behind bars.
