Three Arrested in New Haven on Narcotics and Firearm Charges

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Three men were arrested Monday afternoon in a narcotics and firearms bust at a residence on Davenport Avenue, according to New Haven Police.

At around 3:08 p.m., officers executed an operation at 238 Davenport Avenue, arresting 28-year-old Christian Ayala-Rivera, 26-year-old Jorge Asencio-Ortiz, and 34-year-old William Borrero.

A search of the property uncovered 14 grams of cocaine and heroin, a Glock 17 9mm pistol equipped with a laser sight and high-capacity magazine, ammunition, and an undisclosed amount of cash. Authorities say the same address had been raided in January, leading to two prior arrests.

William Borrero, of New Haven, faces several charges including:

Possession of a pistol without a permit

Possession of a high-capacity magazine

Possession of a controlled substance

Intent to sell a controlled substance

Interfering with police
He is currently held on a $250,000 bond.

Jorge Asencio-Ortiz, also of New Haven, was charged similarly, excluding interference. He too is being held on a $250,000 bond.

Christian Ayala-Rivera was hit with additional charges, including criminal possession of a firearm, and was found to have four outstanding arrest warrants. His total bond was set at $425,000.

The case remains under investigation, and further charges are possible as authorities continue to examine the suspects’ connections.
