AUBURNDALE, Fla. — April 11, 2025 — A 41-year-old Auburndale woman on probation was arrested for attempted first-degree murder and other charges after she allegedly ran over another woman with her car during a violent confrontation involving her estranged husband.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Christdon Reese on April 10, charging her with Attempted First-Degree Murder (F1), Trespassing (M1), and Violation of Probation (M2). She was located early the following morning on Tower Manor Circle East and booked into the Polk County Jail.
The investigation revealed that on April 10, the victim and her boyfriend—Reese’s estranged husband—had walked to a Circle K store at 4950 U.S. Hwy 92 East in Auburndale. As they left and crossed Old Dixie Hwy, Reese spotted them while driving south in her white Volkswagen Jetta. She made a U-turn in a nearby Family Dollar parking lot and rapidly accelerated toward them.
As the victim ran down a residential driveway, Reese pursued and struck her with the vehicle before fleeing the scene at high speed. The entire incident was caught on surveillance video from the Circle K.
The victim suffered two spinal fractures and was taken to a local hospital by Polk County Fire Rescue. She is expected to recover.
Deputies later confirmed with the homeowner on Old Dixie Hwy that Reese did not have permission to be on the property, resulting in a trespassing charge. Additionally, she was found to be on probation for a 2023 retail theft conviction in Osceola County, leading to a charge of probation violation.
“Domestic related calls are some of the worst calls to which we respond,” said Sheriff Grady Judd. “This victim was injured but luckily survived the ordeal. Christdon Reese needs to learn how to control her temper, and maybe some cooling off in the jail will help.”
Reese remains in custody awaiting her initial court appearance.
