PATTAYA, Thailand – Regional Police Region 2 arrested five suspects involved in a violent robbery targeting a 52-year-old Chinese man in Pattaya on July 11, 2025. The perpetrators impersonated Thai police officers to carry out the crime.
Among those apprehended were two Chinese nationals—Mr. L. Han, 37, and Mr. Zh. Han, 63—and two Thai accomplices, Mr. Siripong, 35, and Mr. Thitipong, 28. The group confessed to forcibly dragging the victim, Mr. Lin, into an SUV and stealing $7,070 before releasing him near a shooting range about 9 kilometers from the robbery site on North Pattaya Road Sai 3.
The suspects admitted they were hired by a Chinese man named Hao, who was believed to be the mastermind. They thought the operation was a debt collection and were unaware of the exact amount involved. The stolen money was divided after fleeing to Minburi district, where the vehicle used in the crime was later seized.
On July 12, Immigration officers arrested Hao, 30, at Suvarnabhumi Airport while he was attempting to board a flight to Cambodia. Hao denied the charges and refused to sign arrest documents. He has since been transferred to Pattaya City Police for further legal action.
The coordinated police effort included multiple units—Regional Police Region 2, Immigration Bureau, Tourist Police, Chonburi Provincial Police, and Pattaya City Police Station—and was announced by Police Lieutenant General Yingyot Thepchamnong.
All suspects face charges of armed robbery.
