MAGALIA, Calif. — A routine traffic stop in the Magalia area on Saturday led to the arrest of Sheri Crippen, 46, of Chico, on multiple charges, according to the Butte County Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy observed a vehicle code violation near Skyway and Steiffer Road, prompting the traffic stop. During the encounter, authorities discovered that Crippen’s driver’s license was suspended.

Investigators also found a glass pipe containing methamphetamine inside the vehicle.

Crippen was booked into Butte County Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance and driving with a suspended license. Due to prior drug-related convictions and under California’s Proposition 36, a felony drug charge was also added.
