Chhatarpur, MP: Civil Lines police in Chhatarpur district have arrested a notorious thief, Akhilesh Lodhi, in connection with a theft at a stationery shop on Satai Road that occurred in January. The stolen cash has been recovered.
The shop, owned by Nitin Dubey, was targeted when the accused broke the lock and shutter to steal cash. Following the theft, a notebook with provocative messages was left behind to mislead the public and authorities.
CCTV footage captured the entire incident, enabling police to identify and track the accused. Raids were conducted across several locations, including the Bada Malhara police station area in Damoh district, leading to his arrest.
Akhilesh Lodhi, son of Murat Singh and a resident of Imlidol Barah village under Tendukheda police station in Damoh district, confessed to the crime during questioning. He admitted to leaving misleading messages deliberately.
Police further revealed that Lodhi is allegedly involved in over nine theft cases registered across Jabalpur, Damoh, Panna, and Narsinghpur districts. He was produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody.
The operation was conducted under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police Aditya Patle and City Superintendent of Police Arun Kumar Soni, and led by Civil Lines police station in-charge Satish Singh along with other personnel.
