Former corrections officer Jerry Green was arrested by the Cherokee Sheriff’s Department on Friday after an internal investigation revealed he had exploited his position for personal gain and committed theft in the fourth degree. Upon the completion of the investigation, Green was immediately dismissed from his role.
Sheriff Jeff Shaver expressed his disappointment, stating, “As public servants, we swear to uphold the law, and I expect every member of my team to act with integrity. We will not tolerate anything less.” Following his arrest, Green was booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center.
