The Job Racket Wing of the Central Crime Branch has arrested Saifudin, a 51-year-old man from Chennai, for allegedly cheating 193 job aspirants and collecting a total of Rs2 crore under the pretext of sending them abroad for work. Saifudin promised several individuals jobs in various countries but failed to fulfill the promises, leaving many without employment or visas.
The arrest follows a complaint from Padmanaban, one of the victims. He alleged that Saifudin promised him a meat cutter job in Poland with a monthly salary of Rs1 lakh. In 2023, Padmanaban paid an advance of Rs1.25 lakh for visa facilitation, but Saifudin neither provided the visa nor arranged travel, as promised.
The investigation has revealed that this fraudulent scheme targeted many job seekers who were deceived by Saifudin’s false assurances, resulting in a total loss of Rs2 crore. The police are continuing their investigation into the scam, and further details are awaited.
