GERRY, N.Y. – A major narcotics raid in Gerry has led to the arrest of Chaze A. Johnson, 32, and the seizure of a significant quantity of illegal drugs and firearms, authorities said Wednesday.
The raid was the result of a long-term investigation conducted by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Jamestown Police Department and Dunkirk Police Department. Officers executed a search warrant at a residence located at 1842 Hanson Road, with the Sheriff’s SWAT team making the initial entry.
Inside the home, investigators discovered:
1.3 kilograms of cocaine
7.6 pounds of cannabis
10.9 grams of MDMA/ecstasy
Scales and packaging materials for narcotics distribution
Three loaded semi-automatic pistols
Two high-capacity magazines
A .22 caliber rifle
$11,278 in cash
Johnson was taken into custody at the scene. He is now facing multiple serious charges, including:
First- and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
Second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia
Three counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon
Two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon
Authorities say the bust underscores ongoing efforts to combat illegal drug distribution and firearm possession in Chautauqua County.
