DEVILS LAKE, N.D. — A woman was arrested and charged with felony child abuse after allegedly hitting a 3-year-old child in the face with a basketball at Roosevelt Park.
According to court documents, officers responded to reports that Chassidy Driver had pulled the child off a fence and struck him multiple times by bouncing a basketball off his face.
A witness at the scene confirmed Driver’s actions. The child suffered three abrasions on his face consistent with the described assault.
Driver was taken into custody and booked into the Lake Region Correctional Center.
