ABERDEEN, N.C. — The Aberdeen Police Department has announced the arrest of 23-year-old Christian Redfearn from Charlotte.
On September 19, officers responded to a report of someone passing counterfeit bills at a business near U.S. 1 and Magnolia Drive. Upon arrival, they witnessed Redfearn allegedly dragging a young child toward her Audi Q3 SUV in an aggressive manner while trying to escape the scene.
After a brief confrontation, police detained Redfearn and charged her with misdemeanor child abuse. Fortunately, the child was evaluated and found not to be seriously injured. Further investigation revealed that Redfearn was in possession of more counterfeit bills and had allegedly used counterfeit money at several businesses in Aberdeen.
She now faces multiple charges, including five counts of felony possession of a counterfeit instrument, felony obtaining property by false pretenses, possession of stolen property, resisting a public officer, assault on a government official, and child abuse.
Additionally, Redfearn had an outstanding warrant from Iredell County for driving with a revoked license and speeding in a work zone.
Following her arrest, she was brought before a Moore County magistrate and given a secured bond of $83,500.
