Charles Schroeder Arrested After Walmart Robbery Chase

PALESTINE, Texas (KETK) – A man was arrested in Palestine on Wednesday after allegedly attempting to steal from Walmart, leading officers on a brief vehicle pursuit.

According to the Palestine Police Department, officers responded to a theft-in-progress call at the Walmart store. Upon arrival, Charles Schroeder fled the scene in a truck, initiating a chase.

During the pursuit, Schroeder reportedly struck a police vehicle and a parked car before abandoning his vehicle near the Palestine Mall. Officers quickly located him and took him into custody.

He was booked into the Anderson County Jail and now faces multiple charges, including:

Aggravated Robbery

Evading Arrest/Detention with a Vehicle

Duty on Striking an Unattended Vehicle

Theft of Property ($100–$750)

No injuries were reported during the incident. Police emphasized that Schroeder’s actions posed a significant danger to public safety and law enforcement.
