Charles Mixon Jr. and John Walters III Arrested After Road Rage Incident

Two arrested in South Carolina for impersonating an officer and reckless driving

In Darlington County, South Carolina, two men were arrested following a road rage incident in November 2024. The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance on W. Bobo Newsom Highway, where they found two individuals arguing in a parking lot.

Authorities learned that John Walters III had followed Charles Mixon Jr. to a nearby business, continuing their dispute and displaying a gun. In response, Mixon Jr. showed a retired law enforcement badge and verbally claimed to be a police officer.

After conducting an investigation, officials arrested both men. Mixon Jr. faces charges of impersonating a law enforcement officer, while Walters III has been charged with reckless driving and breach of peace, high and aggravated.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is assisting the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office in the ongoing investigation.
