HOUMA, La. (WGNO) — Two men from Houma have been arrested in connection with a 2015 homicide and kidnapping case that shocked the local community.
According to the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office, 70-year-old Charles Johnson and 43-year-old Shannon Robinson were taken into custody on Monday, Sept. 15, in connection with the murder of Pamela Johnson and the kidnapping of her nieces.
On Dec. 1, 2015, deputies responded to a call on Wade Street in Houma, where two young girls were found and identified as kidnapping victims. Investigators later determined they had been abducted from their home in Bourg. Deputies then discovered the girls’ aunt, Pamela Johnson, fatally shot at the residence the night before.
After years of investigation, authorities say new evidence has surfaced linking Johnson and Robinson to the crime.
Charles Johnson is charged with first-degree murder and solicitation for murder. Shannon Robinson faces charges of first-degree murder, solicitation for murder, and aggravated kidnapping.
Both suspects are currently being held at the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex as the investigation continues.
