CLEVELAND, Ohio — A 32-year-old mother, Sharmaine Magan Forpahl, was tragically stabbed to death in front of her five children, aged 7 to 15, on Thursday. Police discovered Forpahl’s body just steps from her front door.
According to friends and family, Forpahl’s best friend Ciara Drake had spoken with her and her son only minutes before the attack, expressing disbelief at the news.
Charles F. Barkley, 44, was arrested and charged with murder in connection to the fatal stabbing.
Forpahl’s youngest son has now lost both parents, and family members expressed deep concern for the children’s well-being. “He doesn’t really understand that his mom is gone yet,” said Forpahl’s sister, Sky Harmon. Friends and family are committed to preserving Sharmaine’s memory, especially for her young children, as they navigate this heartbreaking loss.
