FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ala. — A couple was arrested over the weekend after deputies recovered over $40,000 in stolen property, including three side-by-sides, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO).
Charles Bell, of Gravel Hill, and his wife, Kristie Bell, were taken into custody after authorities recovered multiple items of stolen property. Charles faces charges including first-degree theft of property, two counts of first-degree receiving stolen property, third-degree receiving stolen property, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Kristie is charged with first-degree theft of property and two counts of first-degree receiving stolen property.
Officials said two of the side-by-sides were stolen locally, while a third was stolen from Itawamba County, Mississippi. The investigation involved cooperation from the Itawamba County Sheriff’s Office, Marion County Sheriff’s Office, and Hackleburg Police Department.
Both Bells are being held at the Franklin County Detention Center, and authorities said the investigation is ongoing with additional charges or arrests possible.
